Privacy Policy

Last updated 10 September 2026

This policy explains what personal information Shridhar LifeSchool collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do with it.

We are a relationship and mental health therapy practice, so some of what we hold about our clients is deeply personal. We treat it that way.

WHO WE ARE

WHAT WE COLLECT

If you visit our website: the pages you land on, where you came from, your approximate country, your IP address and browser type.

If you enquire or book: your name, email address, phone number, and what you tell us about what you are looking for.

If you become a client: everything above, plus the concerns you share with us, notes your therapist writes, recordings of your sessions, your session history and balance, and your payment records.

If your partner joins you in therapy: the same information about them, and anything either of you shares in a joint session.

If you apply to work with us: your application, CV and anything you tell us during hiring.

SENSITIVE INFORMATION

What you discuss in therapy is sensitive personal information. So are session notes and recordings. We collect this only because you have asked us to provide therapy, and we use it only to provide that therapy and to keep its quality high. We never sell it, and we never share it with advertising platforms.

HOW WE USE IT

  • To provide therapy, book sessions and keep your records
  • To take payment and issue invoices
  • To contact you about your sessions
  • To review the quality of therapy through supervision
  • To keep our accounts and meet our legal obligations
  • To understand how people find our website, so we know where to spend on advertising

GOOGLE USER DATA

You can sign in to our portals using your Google account. If you do, Google tells us your name, email address and profile picture. We use this only to identify you and sign you in.

We also use Google Workspace to run our practice. Session recordings created in Google Meet are stored in Google Drive, and appointments are managed in Google Calendar.

We do not sell Google user data, we do not use it for targeted advertising or to build advertising audiences, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence models. We use it only to provide the service you have asked us for, and we share it with others only as described in this policy.

Separately, when you enquire or become a client we report that conversion to Google, so we can measure which adverts work — as described in Who we share it with. That report identifies the advert click, not you: it carries no name, no email address and no phone number — not even a scrambled one — and nothing about your therapy.

You can disconnect Google sign-in at any time from your Google account settings, or by contacting us.

COOKIES AND TRACKING

When you first arrive on our website, we store a cookie called sls_vid for 365 days. It records that a browser visited us and where it came from — the search, advert or link that brought you. Alongside it we record the page you landed on, the address of the site that referred you, your IP address, your browser type, your approximate country, and any advertising click identifiers in the link, such as those Google and Meta add.

We use this to understand which of our adverts and pages actually bring people to us. If you later enquire or become a client, we connect that visit to you, so we can tell which advert brought you. We do not sell any of it.

If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we store nothing at all. No cookie is set and no record of your visit is kept.

WHO WE SHARE IT WITH

We do not sell your information. We share it only with the companies that help us run the practice, and only with what each of them needs:

  • Google — Workspace stores session recordings, documents and calendars; Google sign-in verifies who you are
  • Razorpay and PayPal — to take payment
  • Zoho Books — to issue invoices and keep our accounts
  • Resend — to send you email
  • Meta — to send and receive WhatsApp messages, if you contact us that way
  • Supabase and Vercel — to host our database and website
  • Sentry and Trigger.dev — to spot errors and run scheduled work
  • Anthropic and Voyage AI — to help produce our written content and answer questions on our website

Advertising platforms. When you arrive from an advert, the click identifier described above is stored with your visit. If you later enquire or become a client, we report that conversion back to the advertising platform. That is how we know which adverts work.

Because you are coming to us for therapy, we treat the fact that you are our client as sensitive in itself — so that report identifies the advert click, never you. No advertising platform ever receives your name, email address or phone number from us, not even in scrambled form; none is ever told anything about your therapy; and we never use our client or visitor lists to build advertising audiences or to retarget you with adverts.

Because nothing is stored for visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, there is no identifier to send — and no conversion is reported for them.

We will also share information where the law requires it, or in the situations described in Confidentiality in therapy.

CONFIDENTIALITY IN THERAPY

Confidentiality is a fundamental part of therapy. What you share in sessions is strictly confidential, except in these situations:

  1. If there is an imminent risk of harm to yourself or others.
  2. If there is suspected abuse of a child, elderly person, or vulnerable adult.
  3. If required by law or court order.
  4. For treatment-related discussion with another professional, such as a psychiatrist, doctor, or another therapist.

Your therapist will make every effort to discuss this with you before taking action, unless doing so would increase risk.

CONFIDENTIALITY BETWEEN PARTNERS

This applies to couple therapy only.

We do not keep secrets. To keep therapy fair to both of you, if one partner shares something — in writing, or in an individual session — that is clinically relevant to your work as a couple, your therapist may bring it up in a joint session.

If something is highly sensitive, your therapist will work with you on how and when to raise it, in a way that supports trust rather than damaging it. But if one partner insists on absolute secrecy about something central to the couple's difficulties, your therapist may not be able to continue seeing you as a couple.

If that happens, couple therapy may be paused or ended, and your therapist will tell both of you. If either of you wants to continue in individual therapy, or would like a referral elsewhere, we will help with that.

Individual sessions. Individual sessions are recorded, in the same way as joint ones. Those recordings are never shared with your partner without your explicit written consent — though under the no-secrets policy above, clinically relevant information from them may still be discussed in a joint session.

Ask us. Each of you has the right to understand what this policy means before starting couple therapy. Please ask if anything is unclear.

COUPLE THERAPY RECORDS

Everything from your couple sessions — recordings, notes, and any sessions left in your package — belongs to both of you equally.

Recordings and notes are shared only when both of you agree, and deleted only when both of you agree.

For the sessions you have left, we will go ahead only after telling both of you. We will not act on one partner's instructions in secret, and that does not change if you separate or divorce.

SESSION RECORDINGS

We record every therapy session, including individual sessions within couple therapy. Everything stays within the practice. We record because:

  1. You may want to revisit them. Some clients find it useful to go back over a session to reflect or practise what was discussed.
  2. Quality. Our therapists review each other's sessions to check the quality of therapy.
  3. Learning. Therapists develop their skills by watching how colleagues work.
  4. Accurate notes. A recording allows an accurate record of what was said.
  5. If a therapist's conduct is questioned. In the rare event of a complaint about how a session was conducted, a recording confirms what actually happened.
  6. If a session is remembered differently. Where there is a dispute or misunderstanding about what was said, a recording is an objective record.
  7. Research. Recordings help us measure whether particular approaches actually work.
  8. Changing therapist, or returning after a gap. Recordings help a new therapist get up to speed quickly, which saves you repeating yourself.
  9. AI summaries. Recordings can help us generate session summaries and action plans using AI.

Recording is part of how we work. Our therapists review each other's sessions to check quality, and we cannot maintain that standard for a client whose sessions are not recorded — so if you opt out, we reserve the right not to provide therapy services. If recording is a concern, talk to us at contact@shridharlifeschool.com before you book.

Getting a copy. You can ask for the recordings and notes of your own sessions. For couple sessions, we share them only once both partners have agreed.

HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

Every period below is counted from your last session or payment, whichever is later. If you come back within that time, it starts again — so while you are working with us, or might come back, your records stay.

Session recordings. We delete the video of your sessions automatically once 3 years have passed since your last session or payment. You can also ask us to delete them sooner, any time after 1 year has passed since your last session or payment.

Conversation recordings. Talk Meter conversations you record or upload are kept so you and your therapist can listen back. We delete them automatically once 3 years have passed since your last session or payment — and you can delete any conversation recording yourself, immediately, from your Therapy Diary.

Saved voices. If you choose to save your voice so the Talk Meter can recognise who is speaking, we keep a voiceprint — a mathematical summary of how your voice sounds, not a recording — encrypted, on our own servers, and never shared with anyone. You can delete it yourself at any time from the Talk Meter page, and it is deleted automatically on the same 3-year schedule as your recordings.

Written records. Your therapist's notes and session transcripts are not deleted automatically — they stay on file so your history is intact if you return. You can ask us to delete them once 3 years have passed since your last session or payment.

To ask for either, email contact@shridharlifeschool.com and we will respond within 30 days. Records from couple therapy are deleted only when both partners agree.

Payment and tax records are kept for as long as the law requires, whatever else is deleted.

WHERE IT IS STORED

Our website, database and files are hosted with providers whose servers are located outside India, currently in South Korea, and Google Workspace stores data across Google's global infrastructure. Wherever it sits, your information is protected by this policy and by our agreements with those providers.

HOW WE PROTECT IT

Names, email addresses and phone numbers are encrypted in our database, so they cannot be read directly even by someone with access to it. Where we need to look someone up, we match on a scrambled version rather than the value itself.

Access is limited to the people who need it: your therapist, the supervisors reviewing quality, and a small number of staff who run the systems. Each portal shows only what that role is allowed to see.

YOUR RIGHTS

You can ask us to:

  • show you what we hold about you
  • correct anything that is wrong
  • delete your information
  • stop using it in a particular way
  • withdraw your consent

Email contact@shridharlifeschool.com and we will come back to you within 30 days.

Some limits apply. We may need to keep clinical records for a period after therapy ends, and we cannot delete records the law requires us to hold, such as payment and tax records. If you ask us to delete sooner, we will remove what we can and explain what we need to keep and why.

If you are not happy with how we have handled a request, please raise it with our Grievance Officer, Shridhar Chandak, at contact@shridharlifeschool.com.

CHILDREN

Our therapy is for adults, and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18. If you believe we hold information about a child, please contact us and we will delete it.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on our website.
