About Sharmistha
I'm a couple's therapist with 5 years of experience helping individuals and couples work through relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. My practice is grounded in an eclectic, integrative approach — drawing on the Gottman Method, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) — so that the therapy I offer can be shaped around who you are, rather than fitting you into a single framework.
I'm queer-informed in my practice and work extensively with LGBTQ+ individuals and couples, creating a space where identity, relationships, and mental health can be explored without judgment. I also have experience supporting neurodivergent individuals and couples navigating neuro-developmental differences, and I'm mindful of how these differences shape communication, intimacy, and emotional expression within relationships.
Outside the therapy room, I live in Goa with my four rescued pets — two cats and two dogs — and I'm deeply invested in community animal welfare. I practice MMA, which keeps me grounded and disciplined, and I'm an avid reader, mostly of non-fiction, always curious about how people and systems work.
I believe therapy works best as a collaborative process — one where you feel seen, supported, and gently challenged to grow.
